I've been browsing DA lately and have learned new things. This place has a disease...and that disease is stupid people. Not just any stupid people but it seams a crapload of people weren't happy with MySpace or wanted to be different from others by not using MySpace and came here.

They started posting their pictures of their friends and them doing stupid shit that has nothing to do with visual art in any form. Now I'm all open when it comes to experiencing new forms and styles of art but 90% of the stuff these MySpace rejects post on DA is not even an attempt at art. I have no problem with people who are just learning, to post their attempts. But at least those are attempts.


But the MySpace rejects are just using this place as another myspace and they should be booted for it. The other 10% of the non-art I find doesn't belong here either and thats those same old pictures but with a filter put on top in photoshop.

Having a filter on a simple non-art picture DOES NOT MAKE IT ART YOU FUCKING MORONS!! IT MAKES IT A FUCKING PICTURE WITH A FUCKING FILTER ON IT!!

Something needs to be done about these idiots using DA as MySpace...believe it or not MySpace started of as a place for independent musicians to share their work with each other and share critique. It started of small like DA is now and eventually it grew to the MySpace of the present. A social site.


Something seriously needs to be done...and another things that bothers me is how nobody really posts creative criticism or tips everyone just posts "It's great..." and other meaningless comments.

PEOPLE you are not insulting the artist if you post creative criticism or things you don't like about their art [followed by explanation]. You are actually helping people learn and grow.

And if any of those people whine and complain about creative criticism than they should have no aspirations to become artists because critique is going to be a vital every day occurance no matter where they work as an artist.
